Insomnia & Sleep Care
Insomnia care for nights that end at 3am
Good sleep isn’t a talent — it’s a system, and systems can be repaired. We evaluate what’s actually breaking your sleep and treat it with the methods that last, in Newport Beach and by telehealth across California.

Which night is yours?
Chronic insomnia has a way of turning the bed itself into the enemy.
- Wired at bedtime, wrecked all day
- Waking at 3am with a mind already racing
- Dreading your own bedroom as the evening ends
- Sleep aids that worked — until they didn’t
- Weekend catch-up sleep that never catches up
- Doing the math on hours left until the alarm
How we treat insomnia
- 1
Find the real cause
Insomnia is a symptom with many sources — anxiety, depression, pain, medications, circadian habits, and sleep apnea among them. We screen for all of it before treating any of it.
- 2
Repair the system
The most durable insomnia treatment is behavioral — the principles of CBT-I retrain your brain’s association between bed and sleep. We build that into your plan from day one.
- 3
Medication, used wisely
Sleep medication has a legitimate role: the right agent, at the right dose, usually for a defined period — as a bridge while the durable fixes take hold, not a lifetime subscription.
Why trying harder to sleep backfires
Sleep is the one skill that punishes effort. After enough bad nights, the brain learns to associate the bed with vigilance — so you get sleepy on the couch and wide awake the moment you lie down.
That conditioning is reversible. It responds to structure, not willpower, and it’s the core of what we treat.
Take the sleep check-in7 questions · about 1 minute · a conversation starter, not a score — nothing is saved
This screening is private — the scoring happens in your browser and nothing you enter is transmitted or saved. Bring the result to your first appointment, or don’t. Either way it’s a faster start than describing everything from scratch.

Questions we hear a lot
Will you just prescribe sleeping pills?
No — and you should be wary of anyone who does. Medication can absolutely help, and we use it thoughtfully, but the durable fix is usually behavioral. Our goal is that you eventually sleep well without needing anything.
What is CBT-I?
Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia — a short, structured approach that resets sleep timing, rebuilds the bed-sleep association, and quiets the 3am mind. It outperforms medication over the long run and its principles inform our treatment plans.
Could it be sleep apnea?
If you snore, wake gasping, or stay exhausted after a full night, possibly — and no insomnia treatment works well until apnea is found. We screen for it and refer for sleep studies when indicated.
